August 22-September 2, 2025
Delhi - Leh - Nubra Valley - Pangong - Lower Ladakh - Delhi
Spend 13 days fully immersed in Indian culture as we depart from typical tourist destinations and explore the High Himalayas, including our Cashmere Center in Pangong.
You will ride camels in the high desert, tour the only nomadically owned cashmere mill, and enjoy a cooking lesson about making momos. You will also visit the famous Thiksey Monastery (modeled after the Potala Palace in Tibet) and be entertained by local musicians and a cultural dance shows.

And ... you will sleep in a tent as you enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sleep under the stars in a nomadic camp.

Although we have been leading tours to India since 2012, this is the first time since the pandemic we are returning to both Nubra Valley and the nomadic camp. Each destination provides a greater perspective of life in Ladakh.
At the end, you will leave feeling perhaps a bit overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of India. But you will also experience extraordinary hospitality and the true spirit of the Indian heart. It is why keep going time and time again.

Your Experience
Your days are designed to include a balance of local food, spectacular vistas, and home visits. You will have plenty of opportunities to go shopping and explore the markets as you so choose. But you will also engage with farmers, and learn about village life.
This trip does not involve a tremendous amount of walking although fort visits always involve lots of stairs. You always have the option to find a comfortable seat should you begin to tire.
** For your time in Ladakh. you must be willing and able to take Diamox, the standard high-altitude medication., available only by prescription.
