Depending your perspective, early summer is the perfect time to visit St Kilda. The Soay sheep are in their most unglamorous state as long ropes of tangled wool seem to drape from every inch of their body. By mid-July, they will have successfully rubbed it off using the countless miles of stone walls to scrape themselves clean.
